CONVERGING TECHNOLOGIES for micro systems manufacturing What does COTECH, converging technologies, mean?
- Process technologies enabling the processing of multi-material and/or multi-form based devices.
- Solutions for the hybridisation of complementary replication technologies
- Combinations of different processes for master production needed for the replication process.
With a focus on the development and demonstration of new production processes for multi-material and/or multi-form based micro-devices made of polymers, Cotech's objectives are to:
- develop and demonstrate micro replication techniques supported by emerging tool-making technologies for processing multi-material components.
- develop and demonstrate new convergent technologies for replication combining capabilities of different processes or techniques based on micro injection moulding and/or embossing.
- implement global process chains with increased MTBF and fabrication of high quality products which requires non-destructive inspection procedures and advanced simulation models.
- demonstrate the capability of producing high added value micro devices with advanced functionalities (8 demonstrators).
